Our services include:-

  • Lip reading classes (free to Bexley residents - places must be booked before attending course)
  • advocacy sessions
  • hearing aid maintenance clinics/local domiciliary home visiting service
  • Basic Deaf Awareness/Sign Skills course held monthly - £15 per person 
  • Lunch Club (Tuesdays and outings every other Thursday) and a Job Club (Fridays 10.30am-1.00pm)
  • Walking Football

British Sign Language Taster at the Bexley Deaf Centre (£5 per person - places must be booked before)

Deaf Awareness/Sign Skills and Sign Taster courses held regularly (places must be booked before)

Sign Taster 19th July, 12.45 - 2.15 pm at Bexley Deaf Centre (£5 per person - places must be booked before)

Deaf Awareness/Sign Skills Course 26th July, 12.45 - 2.45 pm at Bexley Deaf Centre, Slade Green (£15 per person - places must be booked before)

New BSL Level 1 and Level 2 courses starting September (including evening classes)

The Bexley Deaf Group was formed in 1986 and became a registered charity in December 1990. It is responsible for the management of Bexley Deaf Centre which aims to provide information, education and support for Deaf people in Bexley enabling them to enjoy the same quality of life as those with normal hearing. It aims to make a difference to the lives of Deaf people through encouragement and empowerment to live independent lives whilst also increasing Deaf Awareness wherever possible.
